The Story Behind the Name “Thaan Aoan”
The name “Thaan Aoan” comes from our grandfather’s nickname. He was a kind, gentle man who had a deep love for delicious food—and he is the inspiration behind everything we do. This name is a tribute to the values he passed on to us.
The word “Thaan Aoan” also means “young palm fruit”—the fruit of the sugar palm tree—and is a term of endearment often used for children. It carries a sense of fun, freshness, and warmth, just like the atmosphere of our restaurant.

Started as a small family café serving coffee and baked goods, run entirely by family members.

Temporary Closure
Losses mounted steadily, forcing a full overhaul before coming back stronger than before.
2010
Reopened
Updated menu featuring beloved family Thai recipes, alongside a wider variety of breakfast options.
2012
Renovation & Redesign
Growing customer base led us to redesign the space and expand the dining area to meet rising demand.
2013
Full Restaurant
Expanded the Thai food menu significantly. We officially transitioned from a “café” to a full-fledged “restaurant.”
